Reeze Hanson

Reeze Hanson is a prolific designer, entertaining speaker, and an award- winning teacher whose company, Morning Glory Designs, features an eclectic variety of whimsical florals and bold geometrics. Reeze teaches and lectures widely on one-patch quilt techniques, offering both traditional and modern methods geared toward the busy/working quilter. Her floral applique work features machine applique shortcuts and tips to make beautiful quilts in less time, without sacrificing accuracy. Reeze also teaches all levels of EQ7, quilt design software. A sewer, quilter, and custom dressmaker for more than 50 years, and a retired college professor, Reeze has lots of experience, wisdom, and humor to share.

EQ8 – Designing Quilts on the Computer Trunk Show
Friday, June 14, 8:00 – 11:00 am“Ain’t Technology Grand?” This program looks at the incredibly powerful quilt designing software, EQ8 by the Electric Quilt Co. A Power Point lecture explores the many things this software program can do, and the ways it can assist quilters (with little or no computer experience) to design quilts, quilt blocks, explore fabric and setting ideas, and create instructions for making original quilts. A virtual trunk show is included in the presentation along with a number of actual quilts designed by Reeze with EQ8.
The Big Apple — Curved Piecing Without Pins – Piecing Template Cut Apple Cores

Learn to piece those fabulous BIG apple core shapes using an easy pin-less technique. We will rotary cut these apple core shapes and piece them without pins. If you thought you could not do curves, this workshop will change your mind, while you create a great big apple core crib or lap quilt project.
Benefits of Class:
Learn to use a rotary cutter and template to cut curved patches.
Learn a precision piecing technique which can be applied to other projects with curved seams.
Lots of shortcuts and tips for cutting and piecing you won’t find in books.
Use pre-cuts and fast cutting techniques to get right to the sewing.
Kit fee: $20 to be paid to Reeze at the time of class. Includes: Project pattern, large apple core acrylic template, bent nose tweezers, 4 pre-cut practice apple cores, and detailed piecing instructions.
Supplies Needed:
Basic sewing supplies: long flower head pins, 1 layer cake (42 – 10” squares), rotating cutting mat and rotary cutter
Optional items for sale:
Layer Cakes: $35 – $40
Flower Head pins: $5
12” large rotating cutting mat: $25
45mm titanium blades: $5
Other considerations: If using fabric from your stash, cut 42 – 8” x 10” rectangles. If there are less than 42 squares in your layer cake, bring an extra fat quarter.
