KCRQF 2019 – Trunk Shows!

Are you planning your trip to Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival 2019 — but don’t have enough time to take a workshop?

We have a wonderful lineup of trunk shows offered during four days — in an hour and a half, you will be entertained and inspired by some of the country’s best quilters!  So, plan your day (or days) with some breaks to treat yourself to fabulous quilts!

We’ll start with Wednesday, June 12 — watch in the future for Thursday, Friday and Saturday recaps.

“Designing Fabrics, Designing Quilts” with Barb Eikmeier — Noon to 1:30 pm

As a fabric designer for Kansas City based Paintbrush Studio Fabrics, a division of Fabri-quilt, Barb designs reproduction fabric collections. Learn about the process from concept to completed fabric and enjoy a trunk show of the quilts Barb has designed to showcase her collections.

“Adventures with Sixty Degree Triangle Qulits” with Liz Granberg-Jerome — 2:00 to 3:30 pm

Join Liz as she takes you through her journey using 60 degree triangles to make kaleidoscopic hexies that produced a variety of quilts. Her journey touches on One Block Wonders, Stack-and-Whacks, and has evolved into her original design Hexified Panel Quilts, a hybrid that merges techniques learned along the way. Using panels to create kaleidoscopic quilts opened a whole new world of design and artistry as every quilt is completely different. These quilts will change the way you look at panels forevermore!

“Half Square Triangle Possibilities” with Jenny Doan — 4:00 to 5:30 pm

In this trunk show you will learn Jenny’s favorite ways to make half square triangles. Then she will fill your mind with ideas for how to make amazing quilts using half square triangles. They are in almost every quilt we make! The possibilities are endless! Come learn a dozen ways to make amazing designs using half square triangles!

If you’re planning to attend Preview Night, these trunk shows would be a great start to the evening!  Sign up for trunk shows, classes and events Here.

Barbara J. Eikmeier — KCRQF 2019 Instructor

Quilting since 1984, Barb found it to be her portable career as her family moved around the country and to South Korea with the military.  Accomplished in many techniques, she says applique is her favorite.

As a designer of reproduction vintage fabrics for Paintbrush Studio, Barb loves using those fabrics in her designs.  You can find out more about her, her fabric, books and patterns on her website.  You can also follow Barb on Facebook.

During the Festival, Barb will present her trunk show “Designing Fabrics, Designing Quilts” and her workshops for Back-Basting Applique and Straight Stitch Machine Embroidery.
