Finding Your Path with Dorie Hruska – Friday, June 14, 8:00 am to 12:00 noon

Do you struggle with how to quilt a top with the least amount of starts and stops? In this class, you will learn the strategies Dorie uses to find the continuous path around pieced blocks. Then take it to the next level by connecting these free motion designs across the width of the quilt top with one start and one stop. Based on Dorie’s book, Making Connections. Students are encouraged to bring tops for design discussion.

So far, we’ve introduced a few of the teachers and speakers that will be with us at KCRQF in June.  In the next few days, we’ll introduce you to the rest of them.

We’re excited to share with you the names of our longarm quilting  teachers for June!  This group of young and enthusiastic women is excited to share their talent and knowledge with others.  Two of them have taught at previous Festivals; the other two are looking forward to the Festival experience!

Angela Walters — Besides being well-known for her quilting ability and teaching, Angela is a shop owner, fabric designer, author and the host of The Midnight Quilt Show.

She thinks everyone should love quilting as much as she does!  Find out more about her on her website and follow her on social media, including Facebook.

Tia Curtis is also returning for KCRQF 2019!  Her fabulous custom quilting is appreciated by many, especially fellow members of Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild.

If you’re not a machine quilter, you can have fun with Tia in a machine piecing class.  Visit her website, be sure and watch her videos posted there — you’ll learn a lot — and follow her on Facebook.
