Meet the guild
The Blue Springs Twilight Stitchers Quilt Guild was established in 1996 and has had a membership of around 100 for the past eight years. The skill level of the members ranges from novice to national award winners, who love to share and learn from each other.
The Guild meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Community of Christ Christian Church located at 3539 SW 7 Hwy in Blue Springs, MO. The December meeting is a member only holiday dinner.
Guild programs vary from lectures and trunk shows by well-known speakers or a school house demonstration of quilting techniques and tools by guild members. The monthly newsletter keeps members advised of upcoming events.
Twilight Stitchers hold an annual Quilt Show in September that features 150+ quilts. Each year a challenge is issued related to that year’s theme. The Guild’s Opportunity Quilt drawing is held at the close of the show. Our attendance averages 450.
Charity efforts include the Rose Bell Love Project that provides quilts for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. It was named for a former member that passed away from breast cancer. Our Kids Kwilts are donated to Truman East Medical Center for young moms who deliver there.
The Guild provides a sign language interpreter at their meetings for the hearing impaired members and guests. Visitors are welcome to attend two meetings each year to decide whether our Guild is a good fit for them. At that time we hope they join us as a member.
