Quilt Story: Pattern is by Kathy Delaney – “Enjoying applique – it was fun to learn some new techniques I had never done before.”
Small Quilts:
1st Place – “Life Began in a Garden” by Lois Bozarth, Blue Valley Quilters Guild
Quilt Story: Pattern by Farmhouse Threads and Friends – “This was a BOM on Facebook by several designers who each posted a free pattern each month. I used wool and cotton from my stash to construct the blocks – hand appliqued each block and some included embroidery embellishments. I enjoyed making this quilt – one of my favorites.”
2nd Place – “Calico Garden” by Jessie VandenBerg, Olathe Quilters Guild
Quilt Story: Pattern by Hoopla, from Shelburne Museum Series — “I started this quilt at least 20 years ago. It was a UFO until last year.”
3rd Place — “Oriental Cabins” by Sandra David, Quilters Guild of Greater Kansas City
Quilt Story: Pattern by Emiko Yoshida, Japan — “This quilt is a paper pieced log cabin with oriental undertones. I love the movement of the patterns made by the log cabin placement.”
