Participating Guilds

The quilting community in the Kansas City metropolitan and outlying areas is very active through numerous guilds. Below is a list of the guilds who support the KCRQF through member volunteers. If you want to be involved with the festival, please contact a board member in your guild to ask about opportunities. If you are not currently a member of a guild, explore the guilds listed below to find one that fits your needs.

We have about 40 members with a wide variety of skills and age groups. Our meetings usually run about 2 to 2.5 hours and we do not meet in November. Our December meeting is a holiday potluck on the fourth Thursday at 6:30 pm. with games and door prizes. We supplement our meetings throughout the year with Sew Days, Block Lotto and other fun projects. Please feel welcome to visit a meeting and see if it fits your schedule and interests.

Starlight Quilters Guild has been supporting, educating, and providing friendship to quilters for forty years. Every meeting provides you with time to mingle with quilters from the metropolitan area, peruse the free table, purchase raffle tickets to win fabulous gift baskets, nibble goodies from the snack table, borrow books from our library, and then settle in to listen to a presentation from a diverse range of speakers. This year’s quilt show, “A Gem of a Quilt Show,” will be held at the Lenexa Rec Center on September 25 and 26.

Our purpose is to assist in preserving the heritage of quilting, to be a source of information and inspiration, to promote and stimulate the knowledge and appreciation of the quilting arts, and to promote and support programs for the education of all interested in the art and skill of quilting. We do this with programs at our meetings, offer retreats and our yearly quilt show that is free to the public.
