Theresa Ward

Theresa Ward is an award-winning quilter, pattern designer, author (Sew, Slice, Spin & Sash: Quick and Easy Strip-Pieced Quilts by Theresa Ward), teacher, and long arm quilter. She made her first quilt in 1988 and has never looked back.
After years of making quilts and hand quilting them, in 1999 she purchased her first long arm and began her quilting business (Always Quilts). Theresa loves the creativity that quilting allows her, from designing quilt patterns to machine quilting designs on her customer quilts. She enjoys taking odd areas of a quilt and adding dimension through quilt designs to “bring it to life”.
Theresa has learned from many leaders in the industry throughout her career – Karen McTavish, Julia Quiltoff, Jodie Madison, and many more. She was excited when she learned she ribboned at the Machine Quilters Showcase in Overland Park, KS where she made a quilt without a stitch regulator.
In her teaching, she loves helping students learn different things, and especially when the “lightbulb” goes off. Her students enjoy learning how they can add their own flair and creativity to a quilt project.
Theresa enjoys designing quilt patterns, teaching workshops, traveling, and visiting quilt shows with friends. She is married with two grown children, one grandson and lives outside of Leavenworth, Kansas.
