At the Kansas City Regional Quilt Festival, we are passionate about honoring and evolving the art of quilting. For the 2025 festival, we’re excited to unveil two new Miniature Quilt Challenges. (Click on images below to view full details)

These themed challenges invite quilters to push their creative boundaries and showcase their talents in a fun and meaningful way. Each challenge is crafted to celebrate its unique theme while giving you the chance to shine. We can’t wait to see your masterpiece and share it with our community of dedicated stitchers!

Youth Award (18 and under) & People Choice Committee

Rules

  1. Open to anyone of any age. One entry per person.
  2. Quilt must be of original design and be crafted entirely by the submitting artist.
  3. Finished Quilt Measures 20" x 20"
  4. Fabrics use must follow guidelines for individual challenge
  5. Only use the color palette identified for individual challenge
  6. Use any quilt technique - piecing, English paper piecing, applique. As per the definition of a quilt - project must have a front, middle and back held together with stitching.
  7. Add embellishment, if desired, such as embroidery, dyes/paints or beads only using color palette allowed. These items must be securely attached to the quilt without extruding.
  8. Exhibition will have a limited number of entries for display.
  9. Quilt makers are allowed to submit quilts into both Miniature Quilt Challenges and other judged quilts.
  10. Entrants agree to grant KCRQF permission to photograph the quilt project for use in promotion of the festival.

Process for Quilt Entry

  • Submit Entry Form online at https://kcrqf.com/judged-quilt-entries/#quilt-entry or by USPS to: KCRQF - PO BOX 7092 - Overland Park KS 66207 with Registration Fee & photos, from January 6th thru February 3rd, 2025 for consideration. Do not send in a physical quilt at this point.

    Entry Information Fee $10 - non-refundable.
    • Name, Address, email, phone
    • Quilt Name
    • Quilt Story/Artist Statement - limited to 150 words, Tell us your idea for your design and anything
      interesting related to this quilt. (this statement will accompany quilt at exhibit if accepted)
    • Submit - 3 photos for juried consideration - #1 entire quilt front w/ rulers to prove 20” x 20” size, #2 & #3 close up details of the quilt showing your work. Photos need to be well light in focus

  • Include fee with application. Registration fee is non-refundable.
  • KCRQF will jury all entries to determine if the entry will move forward and be accepted into the exhibit.
  • Quilts are judged on compliance to all rules & that processes are followed. KCRQF reserves the right to reject an entry in its sole discretion.
  • All quilt registrants will be notified by March 15, 2025 of status of acceptance or not.
  • Accepted Quilts must be delivered to KCRQF drop off available - To Be Determined.
  • If you are a quilter that needs financial assistance in order to participate, contact us. KCRQF is dedicated to being an inclusive & equitable quilt show.
  • Visit the KCRQF event to see your quilt on display from June 12 - 14, 2025.
  • Ribbons & Awards will be awarded at the discretion of the Judge & Festival to the winning Quilt Maker.
  • Pick up your quilt at Overland Park Convention Center on Saturday, June 14, 2025 after 4pm at the close of the quilt show. If the quilt needs returned shipping, include additional $15.
