Job Descriptions
Bus Captain
Greets and gets groups fired up! Reads brief script of important details. Gives envelope to driver with map to bus parking and their wristband.

Bus Team
Passes out door prize tickets and wristbands. Make sure group stays together inside building, hands off group to the Distribution tables, help get the group lined up quickly for photo.

Distribution Asssistant
Volunteers will distribute show books, tote bags and pins to group members. Answer questions from guests.

Group Movement
Volunteers will help control the movement of tour groups as they move throughout the concourse area. This will include from the entrance to the Convention Center to the distribution area, pictures, and getting the group to the appropriate entry access into the festival.

Group Photographer
Volunteer will take pictures of groups as they arrive at photo area. Good customer service working with groups. Ability to vocalize directions in clear polite voice. Knowledge and experience of digital photography of groups. Ability to transfer photos to a laptop.

Group Photo Assistant

Concierge
This is primarily a standing and slight walking position with limited opportunity to sit. Concierge workers greet attendees at all main entrances, pass out show books, manage crowd control when needed, and answer questions and direct attendees to proper areas. You will be provided a yellow apron and lanyard with emergency contact information on the back.

Concierge South Concourse
This is primarily a sitting position with limited standing. The Concierge south concourse worker will greet attendees, pass out show books, answer questions and direct attendees to proper areas. You will be stationed at the south concourse curtain that is between the public access area and the ticket required quilt viewing area. You will be provided with a yellow apron and a lanyard with emergency contact information on the back.

Concierge Vendor Access
This is a seated position inside the back entrance where Vendors enter from the parking lot. This is not in the vendor or quilt viewing rooms. Volunteers will need to screen unauthorized people entering the building from the parking lots and redirect them to the main entrances.

Class Desk
The Class desk will require sitting, selling classes, giving receipts, recording new class particpants, answering questions, assisting the classroom coordinator(s) as needed.

Classroom Assistants
All classroom assistants will be responsible for assisting students and the instructor as needed. Some classes may require training if you are not experienced on the domestic machine in the classroom.

Classroom Angel
In addition to all requirements Angels will assist in the classroom for the entire class and will collect surveys at the end of class. Turn off machines and unplug irons at end of day.
Classroom Ambassador
In addition to all requirements Ambassadors will take attendance and sign in participants for this class before the class begins. Assist within the classroom as needed by the instructor.

Door Prize Drawings
Working at the Door Prize Table consists of posting the winning ticket numbers and to provide instructions to winners on how to collect their prize. Volunteers at the table will be able to sit between drawings.

Stage Manager
Demonstration Stage Manager will be at the stage to help presenter connect cable (most presenters will know how to do this), and introduce the presenter.

Presentation Opener
Get the presenter 15 minutes before they are scheduled and accompany them to the stage. If needed they will also help to carry supplies, etc. Advise regarding bathroom location.

Hang Tags
Distribute and collect hang tags and hang tag ribbons. Make sure ribbons are placed back in the quiltfest bin before the bin is turned in at the end of the festival. Direct Guilds to their respective row and bay assignments. Answer questions.

Quilt Scribe
Assist the judging of quilts on Tuesday, June 10th by documenting any commentary made by the judge in the format described by the judge. Legible handwriting is a must. You will take turns writing the judges comments and attaching the comments to the correct entries.

Quilt Paperwork
This role will assist in completing paperwork to support the Judged Quilt process. Responsible for tracking all judged comments and quilt release forms, oking the hanging of quilts.

Quilt Hanging
Quilts will be hung the morning of June 12th. This requires use of a step ladder and the ability to lift drapery poles above the head. After quilts have hung, do a recheck to straighten quilts and hang tags. You will be working in teams of 3.

Tech Helper
Tech Helpers will assist the Festival Board with any troubleshooting etc. required within Classrooms, the Demonstration Stage, the Lounge, the Square payment iPads and barcode scanning. No specific knowledge is required – but an ease with technology and ability to walk from end to end of the Festival is needed. Issues may include things like troubleshooting microphones, helping instructors connect laptops to the Smart TVs, unlocking iPads, logging users into the KCRQF Square account.

Ticket Sales
Ticket Sales will be a primarily sitting position and customer facing. This will include handling cash and utilizing a square product to sell tickets to customers onsite at the festival.

Ticket Taker
Ticket takers will stand by the entry to the festival. This will require use of a personal smart phone to scan customers' tickets for entry into the festival. This will require walking and standing during busy periods.

Vendor Ambassador
These volunteers will assist vendors as needed and answer questions and is a standing and walking position. i.e. If a vendor needs to leave their booth temporarily to go to the bathroom or get something to eat, a Vendor Angel may be requested to stand in the Vendor’s booth while they step away. This volunteer will not be required to take payments.

Vendor Move-In
Assist and coordinate vendor move in to the convention center. Welcome vendors and offer a vendor packet to each as they arrive. Help vendors find their booth locations on map. Check out carts to vendors (vendors must give their driver's license or other valuable to check out a cart, which is returned when the cart is returned). Go collect carts from vendor booths to allow other vendors to use them.

Vendor Move-Out
Volunteer will go to each vendor booth at check-out to ensure they have all items packed and ready to load. A Form is signed and given to vendor to allow them to get in line to dock to load their merchandise. A cart can be checked out when their vehicles are at the dock and ready to load. The cart checkout procedure is the same as check in.

Desk Clerk
The Volunteer Desk Clerk will require sittiing, checking in volunteers, checking lanyards in and out, answering questions, assiting the job coordinator(s) as needed.

Host
White glovers act as a host in their row assignment to provider information on the quilts and view and monitor the safety of the quilts by offerig to turn the quilt back for a better view. This role occurs during the festival hour ans requires monitoring the rule of no food or drinks in the quilt room; Work in two hour shifts mostly standing (chairs will be available); Offer information about the festival.

Helper
You will be working with children and youth(ages with vary) , with a wide range of sewing skill levels, encouraging, teaching and assisting with assigned projects, and keeping them on task. Volunteers may be kitting projects and will need to keep the area straightened up throughout the festival. We want this to be an enjoyable experience for our youth participants therefore patience, along with the ability to work with and encourage youth are a must. At close of each day and at the end of festival you will need to move supplies and machines to an assigned area.
