Two more outstanding examples of quilts from the Kansas City Regional Quilt Show 2019 —
“First American Women” — an original crazy quilt design by Marci Hainkel of Kansas City, Missouri. This 45″ x 66″ wall quilt features images and hand stitching. Marci says: “Each block is about the first American woman to do something. The ladies are amazing.”
“Can I Have Your Scraps, Please?” was created by Diann White of Belton, Missouri and quilted by Gail Osborne. Size is 67 1/2″ x 87 1/2″. Diann says: “I have been making quilt blocks from little scraps of fabric for years. My husband called it ‘you can’t throw any fabric away.’ Then I saw an article on the internet about crumb quilting. I am not alone! This quilt is the first one I have ever had someone else quilt.”
