21st Century Art Deco

21st Century Art Deco is a fun, eye-popping project that looks SO MUCH more complex than it is!

The participant will work with half-rectangles to create the foundation of the block, while exploring and learning how to cut “standard” and reversed” patchwork and how to construct blocks that are “mirror-imaged”. The block construction also includes partial seam construction (NOT the same a “Y-seams aka set-in seams), a technique that sounds complicated but isn’t, and Kelly will guide participants through the process quickly and easily.

This class will include the following techniques:

• Constructing Half-Rectangle Units
• Partial Seam Technique (NOT the same as "Y-Seams"!)
• Mirror-Imaged Blocks / "Standard" and "Reversed" Patchwork
