Theme & Style
Kansas City BBQ
"Big Block Quilts"
For 2027, KCRQF turns up the heat with a celebration inspired by Kansas City’s world-famous BBQ scene—where rich tradition meets fearless flavor. This theme invites quilters to lean into the bold: big blocks, daring design choices, creative seasoning, and unexpected combinations.
Just like KC pitmasters, quilters bring heritage, innovation, and personality to every creation. This year’s challenge celebrates that same craft: slow-built skill, signature style, and a little extra spice. Fire up your imagination and stitch your own “BBQ-inspired” masterpiece—Big Block Quilts that are full of flavor.
