Heather Buchwitz is an award-winning quilter who owns QuiltKC. Heather specializes in using her background in engineering & design to create quilts in new ways. Some of the various areas where she applies her skills include creating traditional quilt patterns, highly intricate paper piecing patterns, whole-cloth designs, as well as embroidery & long-arm pattern creation.

In addition to creating patterns for quilts, embroidery & the long arm, she is a guild speaker & quilt educator and a long-arm quilt artist for hire.

In her spare time, Heather has returned to her engineering roots in 2026 to step into a full-time role teaching collegiate-level engineering classes to students in advanced courses at her local high school.
